Most of the survivors of the sinking of the Navy corvette Cheonan in 2010 are still experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder.
Chungang University assessed carried out a psychological assessment of survivors to mark the sixth anniversary of the incident on March 26.
Nineteen out of 22 survivors said they experienced PTSD symptoms while watching or reading news about the sinking or tragedies like the ferry disaster in April 2014, and 16 said they experienced symptoms in the last six months.
Ten confessed they thought about suicide, and five actually harmed themselves.
