Seoul Subway Line No. 7 will run round the clock on Saturdays starting some time next year. The plan is to run trains every 20 minutes between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. to accommodate late revelers.
New York and London already run some subway lines 24 hours a day.
The Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation, which operates Lines No. 5 to 8, said Friday it is working out the details.

Line No. 7 connects popular places north and south of the Han River including Konkuk University, Gangnam and the Express Bus Terminal. The line has a staggering 1.45 million users per day, which is nearly twice as much as lines 5, 6 and 8.
The corporation said extending the hours will also help the local economy.
The corporation expects to spend W2.6 billion on more staff and facilities for the extension (US$1=W1,195).
