Korea's national debt is forecast to exceed W600 trillion mark for the first time ever this week (US$1=W1,206). The nation's debt stood at W599.3 trillion as of 7 p.m. Sunday and is increasing by W1.58 million every second.
Korea's debt load has grown by W468 trillion since 2013.
The national debt ratio compared to GDP rose from 16.4 percent in 2001 to a whopping 40 percent this year.
