A group of activists is pushing to set up a statue honoring the victims of sexual enslavement during World War II, in front of the Japanese Consulate in Busan.
There is already a statue symbolizing the former sex slaves in front of the Japanese Embassy in Seoul.
The group plans to officially launch its campaign around March 1 and work to raise some W55 million to build the statue (US$1=W1,217).
It aims to set up the statue on Aug. 15, which marks Korea's liberation from Japanese occupation.
