Park, Abe in Friendly Chat at G20 Summit

      President Park Geun-hye and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe exchanged friendly words at the working lunch at the G20 summit that opened in Antalya, Turkey Sunday, the Asahi Shimbun reported on Monday.

      According to the Asahi, Abe thanked Park, who was sitting next to him, for her warm hospitality during their latest summit in Seoul. "Since the summit, the atmosphere in Japan has become much better," the paper quoted him as saying.

      Park replied that she was "glad to hear it."

      It was their first meeting since the summit in Seoul on Nov. 2.

      They also shook hands during a commemorative photo shoot before lunch, when Abe approached Park and extended his hand, which she took with a smile.

      The Nihon Keizai Shimbun said Abe "demonstrated his resolve to improve bilateral relations."
