Kia to Recall Soul SUVs in U.S. Over Steering Wheel Fault

      November 16, 2015 10:22

Kia will voluntarily recall its Soul compact SUV in the U.S. next month to fix a fault with the steering wheel, the automaker said on Sunday.

Components of the wheel are reportedly prone to come apart due to a weak adhesive.

The recall covers 256,000 Soul vehicles in the U.S. produced between January 2014 and September 2015, including electric versions.

No injuries or accidents have been linked to the defect, according to Kia, which plans to notify Soul owners in the U.S. of the recall starting Dec. 22.

A Kia spokesman said the recall will eventually be expanded to include more than 6,000 Souls sold in Korea that have the same problem.
