Korea beat Cuba in the first ever baseball game held at Korea's first domed baseball stadium in Guro, southwest Seoul on Wednesday.
Kim Kwang-hyun of the SK Wyverns was the starting pitcher for the Korean side. The match was considered his warm-up for the World Baseball Softball Confederation Premier 12.
Kim pitched three scoreless innings, giving up three hits and striking out two.
Rhee Dae-eun of the Chiba Lotte Marlins and a rookie on the national team pitched next.
The right-hander said he was nervous ahead of his national team debut, but he tossed four perfect innings and made a lasting impression on over 14,000 fans in the stadium.
He was voted as the MVP of the game as he was instrumental in leading Korea to a 6-0 victory.
SoftBank Hawks' slugger Lee Dae-ho, the MVP of the Japan Series, will be in the starting line-up on Thursday.
