A Seoul court on Tuesday rejected compensatory lawsuits filed by comedians Yoo Jae-suk and Kim Yong-man seeking payment for appearances on TV programs.
Yoo and Kim joined the talent agency Stom E&F in 2005, but it went bankrupt and the two did not receive W600 million and W96 million they were owed in fees (US$1=W1,134).
The two sued broadcasters in 2010, but the TV stations appealed saying both the agency's creditors and the entertainers were separately demanding back pay.
The court said the broadcasters should pay the bankruptcy administrator, since the agency was the signatory to the contracts.
