The biannual Chinese Film Festival opens its three-day run on Friday in Seoul. Launched in 2006 with the aim of expanding cultural exchanges between Korea and China, it is hosted alternately by the two countries.

In its 10th year, this year's event features films by some renowned Chinese directors as well as hit movies that swept the box office in China this year.

Tickets for "20 Once Again," a Chinese adaptation of the 2014 Korean film "Miss Granny," sold out within minutes as soon as ticket sales began on Oct. 16.

Other highly anticipated films to be screened include festival opener "To the Fore," which stars Choi Si-won of boy band Super Junior, and "Monster Hunt," China's biggest-ever box office hit with 65 million viewers since its release in June.
