President Park Geun-hye plans to visit Washington in mid-October for talks with U.S. President Barack Obama. Park postponed her planned trip to the U.S. in June due to the outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome here.
A Cheong Wa Dae spokesman said Obama re-invited Park to Washington. The two leaders will meet for talks on Oct. 16.
Park and Obama plan to discuss a range of issues including enhancing the South Korea-U.S. alliance, boosting cooperation on addressing North Korea's nuclear ambitions, and securing peace and stability in Northeast Asia.
