Hyundai will discontinue production of its midsize SUV Veracruz late this month, the automaker said on Wednesday.
First released in 2006, the Veracruz will no longer be available as it does not meet the strict Euro 6 emission requirements that will take effect here next month. Hyundai expects a similar model, the Maxcruz, to be an alternative.
Kia will temporarily halt production of its off-roading SUV Mohave for the same reason and revamp the model by early next year.
Kia decided to spare the Mohave as demand for the SUV has kept steady.
