Cloudy skies in the morning will turn to rain across the country on Thursday through Friday. Central regions are expected to see torrential downpours of more than 120 mm.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said Wednesday the seasonal rain front will affect Seoul and surrounding areas bringing cloudy skies and rains until the weekend.
"Precipitation will vary from region to region," a weatherman said. "Accompanied by squalls, lightning and thunder, heavy rains of some 20 mm per hour are expected in some areas."
The Korea Meteorological Administration also forecast that this year's rainy season will end this weekend, after having one of the driest monsoon months.
