The Seoul Metropolitan Government has permitted the new Lotte World mall to reopen a cinema and aquarium after they were shut for being unsafe.
A panel of experts who checked the safety of the new Lotte World Mall met Thursday and decided that the facilities pose no further risks.
A Seoul city official said, "There was no dissent among panel members to allow the cinema and aquarium to reopen, and the measures Lotte came up with to bolster safety were given the green light."
The city closed down the facilities in December last year citing water leakage at the aquarium and mysterious vibration in the cinema.
Seoul city officials will announce the decision on Friday and conduct another last-minute safety inspection.
Children from low-income households and senior citizens can use the facilities for free over a three-day period before they open to the general public in the middle of next week.
