Korean parents are spending more on private preschools.
According to a report by the Korea Institute of Childcare and Education, Koreans spent roughly US$2.5 billion last year on private education for children between the ages of 3 and 5. That's about 27 percent more than in 2013.
The average monthly spending on private tutoring for children under 5 turned out to be over $100 last year, about $30 more than the year before.
