LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics utterly dominated the TV monitor market last year, accounting for more than 99 percent of global sales.
LG claimed 53 percent and Samsung 46.2 percent of sales of TV monitors, which serve as both television and computer screens, market researcher IDC said.
People living alone have been the main market for the devices so far, but more households are buying monitors as second televisions.
IDC forecasts TV monitors will account for 6.5 percent of overall screen purchases this year, up 0.7 percentage point from last year.
