Ki Sung-yueng of English Premier League side Swansea City rewrote the record books Saturday when he scored his seventh league goal of the season.
With the goal against Hull City at Liberty Stadium, Ki has now scored the most goals ever by an Asian player in an EPL season.
His conversion of a rebound off Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor from Jonjo Shelvey's strike gave Swansea a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute, and was Ki's ninth career goal in the Premier League. Swansea went on to beat Hull 3-1.
Until Saturday, Japan's Shinji Kagawa, now with Borussia Dortmund, held the record of six goals, set in 2012-13 with Manchester United.
Park Ji-sung, the first Korean to play in the Premier League, twice scored five goals -- in the 2006-07 and 2010-11 seasons -- also for Man U.
