The box office success of "Kingsman: The Secret Service" is boosting sales of dapper menswear.
The film has attracted over 5 million viewers since its release here in mid-February and has generated a number of parodies on TV shows as well.
Online store AK Mall on Monday said sales of men's formal wear from Feb. 1 to Mar. 13 this year were up 18 percent from a year ago.
While sales of increasingly popular business casual attire went up nine percent, that of formal dressy attire soared a dramatic 38 percent.
Things are similar in offline stores.
Lotte Department Store saw sales of men's formal wear go up seven percent in the same period, and AK Plaza's February sales of men's formal wear were up nine percent from a year ago, with double-breasted suits rising a whopping 64 percent.
Colin Firth's dashing appearance in "Kingsman" is mostly credited for the success. A tailor's even serves as a secret office for the suave spies in the movie, and Firth constantly appears in bespoke outfits including double-breasted suits and trench coats.
