The natural beauty of the southeastern coastline draws many visitors to the region, whose local delicacies are not to be missed, particularly in spring.

Among them is flounder soup flavored with mugwort, a herb known to alleviate high blood pressure that also has antiaging effects.

Sea winds make the mugwort grown in Geoje and the surrounding islands in South Gyeongsang Province particularly flavorful.
Flounder is rich in protein, which is vital for maintaining a healthy liver. A spoonful of the fish broth is a treat for the taste buds.

Roasted rockfish is another regional delicacy to be enjoyed in spring. The savory dish is seasoned only with salt, or can be eaten raw. Potassium-rich rockfish helps lower blood pressure and build healthy bones.

After sampling these delicacies, a visit to Gonggoji, a seaside farm in Geoje, makes for a great retreat.
Planted by a retired couple using only hoes, shovels and pickaxes, the farm is home to more than 50 tree species.

Every spring, a flower tunnel surrounded by camellia trees and filled with yellow daffodils creates a spectacular sight.
These are in full bloom in April, adding to the already picturesque coastline. Heading south takes visitors to Mongdol Beach.
Here, watching the seagulls, one's worries are carried away by the sea breeze.
