South Korea has been ranked among the top 30 countries in terms of economic freedom.
The index, drawn up by the U.S.-based Heritage Foundation, gives South Korea a score of 71.5, up 0.3 point from last year. The country rose from 31st to 29th in the rankings.
South Korea's score was relatively high in terms of the freedom to do business enjoyed by local companies and the finance sector, but it scored poorly in terms of both workers' freedom and public transparency.
Hong Kong topped the list, followed closely by Singapore. North Korea was rock bottom.
