Korean Air will be fined for issuing a ticket under someone else's name to singer Bobby Kim, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Thursday.
The fine can go up to W10 million (US$1=W1,082), but that amount is usually imposed only for repeat offenders, so the carrier is expected to pay much less, the ministry said.
Kim booked a business-class seat on a flight to San Francisco, but the airline mistakenly gave him a wrong seat in economy class on Jan. 7. He became upset and caused a disturbance while intoxicated on board.
