Global travel site Expedia.com's annual survey of nearly 8,000 employed adults in 24 countries put Korea at the bottom of the list for the number of paid vacation days per year.
People in European countries such as Denmark, France, Germany and Spain all enjoy more than 27 paid vacation days per year, nearly twice as many as most countries in the Asia Pacific and North America. Korea was ranked last out of the countries surveyed at just 8.6 days.
Adding insult to injury, more than 60 percent of the Koreans surveyed weren't even able to use all their vacation days. Many said they had to either delay or cancel vacations altogether due to their heavy workload.
