Int'l Carriers Beg for Leniency for Asiana Over Deadly Crash

      October 17, 2014 11:03

Airlines that fly into Incheon International Airport have sent a petition to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport asking for leniency for Asiana Airlines over the San Francisco crash in July last year.

The troubled flag carrier faces a short period of flight suspensions.

The airlines, which include Delta, Lufthansa, Philippine Airlines and Singapore Airlines, pointed in their petition to mechanical problems in addition to pilot error in the crash, while noting the fact that desperate efforts by flight attendants to evacuate and rescue passengers minimized casualties.
