Murder Charges Brought in Conscript's Death

The Army decided to bring murder charges against four soldiers whose brutal and habitual bullying led to death of a 23-year-old conscript identified by his surname Yoon.

The Army prosecutors investigating the case on Tuesday said they want to reverse the Army's earlier decision to charge the four soldiers with involuntary manslaughter, as further investigation led to a conclusion that charges of homicide apply.

The suspects were aware that Yoon could die as he was clearly in excruciating pain but continued to beat him up and torture him, prosecutors explained.
