Footballers playing in the European leagues, including Ki Sung-yueng of Swansea City, Lee Chung-yong of Bolton Wanderers and Son Heung-min of Bayer Leverkusen, arrived at Incheon International Airport on Monday for upcoming friendlies.
The Korean national football team will gather in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, for training ahead of friendly matches against Venezuela on Friday and Uruguay on Monday next week.
Shin Tae-yong will lead the team as an interim manager as the search for a new manager has been dragged out since Hong Myung-bo's resignation after Korea's miserable rout in this year's World Cup in Brazil.
"We now have the added pressure to build a new team with a new manager when we have only four months until the Asian Cup," Lee said. "I hope that we will have a new manager soon to get ready for the cup."
