Kia Donates 'Popemobiles' to Vatican

Kia will donate to the Vatican the compact Soul that Pope Francis rode during his recent visit to Korea.

The Vatican apparently wants to use the car as one of the pontiff's official vehicles.

The automaker on Thursday said it plans to donate two of the four Souls used by Pope Francis to the Vatican and give a third to the Archdiocese of Seoul to be displayed to the public.

The fourth will be put on public display by Kia.

A Kia spokesman said, "We're looking into a number of suggestions for displaying the car to avoid criticism that we're using the pope for commercial purposes."
