Kia Motors launched its new Sorento on Thursday, five years after the second-generation of the mid-sized SUV was released in April 2009.
The model first hit the market in February 2002, and has now sold a total of 2.07 million units worldwide by June this year.
The new model is 95 mm longer, and the wheelbase is 80 mm longer than its predecessor. It caters to active men aged 35-44 who enjoy sports or traveling.
The car is bigger and about 50 to 70 kg heavier than its predecessor, which makes it less fuel efficient.
Kia aims to sell an average of 5,000 units a month in the domestic market this year and 50,000 next year.
