A 22-strong roster for the Korean national football team was finalized on Monday, as the Korea Football Association announced an additional eight players to compete in the upcoming two friendly matches against Venezuela on Sept. 5 and Uruguay on Sept. 8.
The eight players from the K-league will join the other 14 players in foreign leagues, including Son Heung-min of Bayer Leverkusen and Ki Sung-yueng of Swansea City, who were selected a week earlier.
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors forward Lee Dong-gook, who needed one more game to achieve the feat of playing in 100 international matches, was recalled to the national team after 14 months, while Cha Du-ri of FC Seoul was also able to join the team after two years and six months.
The national team will gather for training in Paju, Gyeonggi Province on Sept. 2.
