Samsung unveiled its first metal-framed smartphone on Wednesday following in Apple's and Pantech's footsteps.
The Galaxy Alpha is Samsung's thinnest smartphone at 6.7 mm thick. If a smartphone is too thin it can easily be bent, but Samsung solved the problem with a metal frame.
The handset has an octa-core processor and a 4.7-inch AMOLED display. It also comes equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera and a fingerprint scanner.
The Galaxy Alpha will be released in stages in 150 countries starting early September.
