Two soldiers from the 28th Infantry Division, which has made headlines recently after the brutal death of a conscript at the hands of his comrades, have been found dead in Seoul in an apparent suicide.
According to police on Tuesday, the two soldiers were found hanging from the ceiling of an apartment in Seoul where they were staying while on leave.
An official at the hospital that examined the bodies said, "There were no signs of physical abuse on the bodies, and judging from the marks on their necks they appear to have committed suicide."
Military police and prosecutors are investigating whether the two soldiers were also victims of the relentless abuse that appears to be rife at the unit.
The two were on the Army’s list of conscripts "requiring extra care."
