Shin Ji-yai claimed another title in the Japan LPGA this season, two months after her first win in the tour. She finished 12-under-par with a final score of 204 to win the Meiji Cup in Hokkaido on Sunday.
Shin was two strokes ahead of Teresa Lu of Taiwan who finished in second, and won 16.2 million yen. The latest victory was her second win this season and seventh title in Japan.
Shin also won 3,650 packs of chocolate from Meiji, a chocolate manufacturer, who hosted the event. She said she will donate them.
Late last year Shin announced she wanted more time to focus on the Japanese tour. Her decision seems to have paid off as she ranks fifth in total prize money with a total of 55.52 million yen.
