Girl Thought Swept Away by 2004 Tsunami Found Alive

An Indonesian girl believed to have been swept away by the 2004 tsunami has been found safe and reunited with her family at the age of 14.

Four-year-old Raudhatul Jannah and her seven-year-old brother were last seen when huge waves stuck their home in West Aceh on Dec. 26, 2004.

She was given up for dead until June, when an uncle spotted a girl in another village who looked remarkably like Jannah.

Upon inquiring, he found that a fisherman had plucked the youngster from the sea and turned her over to his mother, who raised her.

Jannah's brother, who disappeared with her, is still missing.
