LG Electronics said on Sunday that 5,170 suggestions have been submitted by consumers since they launched an initiative in mid-July to gather novel ideas from consumers and reward them.
The initiative is part of LG's campaign to draw participation of consumers in planning and developing new products.
LG promised to reward those who initially suggest ideas, as well as those who participate in evaluating and developing them, with 4 percent of revenue generated by their suggestions once they are marketed.
Among suggestions submitted, the ones which receive over 50 votes from other consumers within two weeks qualify to go to the next round where it will be evaluated by commercial sales experts. A total of 339 ideas have made the cut as of Sunday, mostly ideas for electronic products.
