U.S. Ambassador Made Honorary Seoul Citizen

Sung Kim, the U.S. ambassador to Korea, has been named an honorary citizen of Seoul.

Kim was awarded a certificate of honorary citizenship by Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon on Thursday.

Kim, the first Korean American to serve in the role, began his term in November 2011 and is expected to leave his post in late August.

He will be replaced by Mark Lippert.
