Preparations for the Incheon Asian Games are in full swing ahead of opening day on Sept. 19. The Games' torch will be lit on Aug. 9 at New Delhi Stadium in India, where the sporting event was held for the first time.
The torch will then travel through Weihai, China to arrive here on Aug. 13 so that it can be combined with a separate flame lit on Mt. Mani, Ganghwa Island, on the 12th.
About 5,000 volunteers will have a launch ceremony on the 19th, and a press conference about the opening and closing ceremonies will be held on the 20th.
Group draws for football, basketball, volleyball, handball, rugby, water polo, kabaddi, gymnastics and badminton will take place in Incheon on the 21st.
The athletes' village will open on Sept. 12, and athletes will start arriving the next day.
The opening ceremony in the newly built main stadium will take place on Sept. 19 in front of 60,000 spectators.
