Pianist Paik Kun-woo remembered victims of the ferry tragedy in a concert on Thursday, which marked the 100th day since the accident. He performed on Jeju Island, the destination of the ill-fated passenger ship.
Some 500 tickets were offered on a first-come, first-served basis at no cost. Paik collected no fees for his performance and did not offer preference to victims' relatives.
The concert aims to help all people put their hearts together to overcome this tragedy.
Paik said nothing during his 50 minutes on stage, instead collecting his thoughts in a pamphlet distributed to fans.
"I want to express my condolences from the bottom of my heart," he said. "Only that will be a true requiem for the poor souls."
