Samsung to Build Factory in South Africa

Samsung Electronics will build a TV factory in South Africa to meet rising demand on the continent.

A Samsung spokesman said the plant will be built in Durban.

According to Bloomberg, Samsung will invest between W290 billion and W390 billion to build the plant (US$1=W1,027).

Samsung wants to sell the TVs made there, mostly affordable LCD sets, across Africa.
