Economists Doubt Korea Can Return to Solid Growth

Few economists believe the Korean economy will re-enter a growth phase, according to a survey by the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The KCCI surveyed 46 economic advisors to the government and the chamber and found that only one believes the Korean economy will return to solid growth under present policies.

Two-thirds forecast anemic growth, and a substantial number a phase of deterioration.

Most also said Korea's manufacturing industry will be, or is already being, overtaken by emerging economies.
