Sales of Apple's iPhone 5S outpaced Samsung's Galaxy S5 in terms of sales worldwide in May, according to a report.
Hong Kong-based market researcher Conterpoint released the report based on research conducted in 35 countries. The report did not provide specific sales figures but said, "The highly anticipated Galaxy S5 comes in at second place but still a quite distant number two in terms of... unit sales."
This means Samsung failed to displace the still-popular iPhone 5S despite its latest flagship smartphone being released in April.
But among the top 10 bestselling smartphones, Samsung has five, including the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, while Apple has three, including the iPhone 5C and iPhone 4S.
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi's two models were also included on the list.
