LG Display Unveils Flexible Display

LG Display has developed a flexible display that can be rolled up. The company on Thursday unveiled a prototype of the 18-inch OLED screen.

Smaller flexible OLED displays measuring less than nine inches have been developed, but this is the first time that a flexible display larger than a laptop screen has been developed.

The display can show images even when it is rolled up around a cylinder measuring 6 cm in diameter.

LG also unveiled a prototype of an 18-inch transparent OLED display the same day.

A company spokesman said, "Our goal is to develop an ultra high-resolution display within three years that is larger than 60 inches, transparent and can be rolled up like paper."
