FIFA published the World Cup Castrol Index on its website Tuesday after the group stage.

The index was created by Castrol to evaluate the performance of players as part of a sponsorship package with FIFA.

Korea and other Asian nations including Iran and Australia had a pretty poor showing at this year's World Cup, and this reflected on the ranking.

Among Korean players, Ki Sung-yueng took the highest spot in 57th place. Koo Ja-cheol was 119th, Lee Chung-yong 210th and Son Heung-min 232nd.

Among Asian footballers, Iran defender Mehrdad Pooladi ranked the highest in 29th.
