LG Electronics unveiled its first smartwatch, the G Watch, on Thursday. Available in two colors, black titan and white gold, it is priced at W269,000 (US$1=W1,016) in Korea.
Pre-orders are now being accepted in 12 countries, including Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain and the U.S. Sales begin next month.
The G Watch is the first smartwatch to run Android Wear, Google's operating system for wearable devices. It is compatible with Android smartphones running Android 4.3 and above.
The gadget is slim and light at 9.95 mm and 63 g and boasts a sleek square screen without buttons. It is dustproof and water resistant to 1 m for up to 30 minutes.
The watch doesn't have to be removed when washing hands, and if it gets dirty, it can simply be washed with water.
