President Park Geun-hye's recent trip to Central Asia has given a big boost to Park's so-called Eurasia Initiative, Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se told reporters Wednesday.
"There is a big demand from Central Asian countries, so the trip created opportunities to establish cooperation in various fields including military industries," Yun said. "We decided to set up a body specifically dedicated to cooperation between Korea and Central Asia, and this will help the Eurasia Initiative."
The initiative aims to open trade routes with the mainland, including a railway.
