Budget carrier Jeju Air will fly between Incheon and Saipan once a day starting from October. For the past 11 years, Asiana Airlines has been the nation’s only airline covering the route.
A Boeing 737-800 jet that can carry up to over 180 passengers will fly to the Pacific Ocean island every day, Jeju Air said. Departure times are set at 8 a.m. on Fridays and Sundays and 9:30 a.m. on other days.
Due to decreasing passenger numbers, Korean Air stopped flying the route in 2003.
