Korea dropped two places to 57th in the latest FIFA world rankings, which were announced last Thursday. It garnered 547 points, down from 551 points last month.
Its group rivals for the World Cup in Brazil, which kicks off on Thursday, are all significantly higher ranked. Belgium is currently at No. 11, followed by Russia (19th) and Algeria (22nd).
Among all the participating teams in the quadrennial event, Australia was the only country trailing Korea at 62nd place.
Spain held on to the top spot for the second straight month, followed by Germany. World Cup host Brazil overtook Portugal to rank No. 3.
