Korea and the United Arab Emirates will work together to find ways into other nuclear energy markets including that of Saudi Arabia. Trade Minister Yoon Sang-jick said Tuesday the two countries are not far away from signing a memorandum of understanding on the issue.
Seoul and Abu Dhabi reached an agreement in principle during President Park Geun-hye's recent trip to the region, where Korea's technology is being used to build nuclear power plants, Yoon added.
Korea is also likely to become the main operator for the next six decades of the nuclear reactors that are currently under construction. The contract is estimated to be worth some US$20 billion.
