Korea's Ahn Sun-ju has become the fastest golfer in the history of Japan's LPGA Tour to earn total prize money of 500 million yen. She achieved the feat by winning the Chukyo TV Bridgestone Ladies Open in Aichi on Sunday with a score of 8-under-208.
Ahn finished three strokes ahead of the compatriot Lee Ji-hee and Japan’s Sakura Yokomine to claim her second title of the season and 15th career JLPGA tournament.
The winner's purse of 12.6 million yen takes her to 511.65 million yen overall from 108 tournaments. Previous record holder Yokomine required 149 events to reach the same financial windfall.
Ahn, who led the money list in 2010 and 2011, has become the 19th player on the Japanese tour to achieve the 500-million-yen feat. She ranks second on the money list so far this season with 46.33 million yen after fellow Korean Lee Bo-mee with 56.23 million yen.
