Twenty-four Norwegian diplomats and business representatives are visiting the Kaesong Industrial Complex in North Korea on Friday to explore investment opportunities there.
The Unification Ministry here on Thursday said they include the Norwegian ambassador to South Korea and representatives from the shipbuilding, shipping and fisheries industries.
The delegation was to tour South Korean firms operating in the industrial park, as well as water purification and sewage facilities and other infrastructure like a medical center before heading back to the South in the afternoon.
The visit has reportedly been arranged as part of efforts to internationalize the industrial zone. In April, a group of over 40 business people from German firms such as BMW and Bosch visited the complex, followed by 29 members of the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations earlier this month.
