Disgraced Hanwha Chief Flies to U.S. for More Treatment

Disgraced Hanwha Group chairman Kim Seung-youn went back to the U.S. for more medical treatment on Monday after he returned home on May 2.

Kim has been on medical leave since February from a corruption sentence here.

According to Hanwha Group, Kim left in his private jet from Gimpo Airport. Kim walked towards the gate while chatting with the group executives who came to see him off. Last time he was taken in a wheelchair.

A Hanwha spokesman said Kim came to Korea because he was making progress, "but his doctor recommended that he go to the U.S. once again for more treatment and rest."

Kim suffers from chronic lung problems and diabetes.
