Mercedes-Benz S-Class Makes Strides in Korea

Mercedes-Benz Korea is making great strides in the Korean market, selling over 3,000 cars in April, its record monthly sales here.

The company sold 300 of the most expensive S-class luxury sedans in just three days after its release in November last year, and 2,351 since.

They outsold rivals like the BMW 7 series and Audi A8 two to three times, and 3,500 people are on the waiting list.

The reason for the explosive popularity of the new models is that they went through a full facelift for the first time in eight years. They have a lot of cutting-edge technologies including over 500 LED lights inside and outside.

They are also the first cars in the world with a road surface scanner that automatically adjusts the suspension on each wheel.

Park Joo-hye at Mercedes-Benz Korea said, "A lot of our existing customers who own previous S-class models are buying the new model." The cars are priced between W129.9 million and W213 million.
