When it comes to credit cards, it seems most Koreans can't go a day or two without swiping their plastic. Among 18 countries recently surveyed by the Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute, Korea came first in terms of credit card usage. The results showed the average Korean consumer made around 150 purchases using their credit card in 2012.
Canada was second with almost 90 purchases a year and the U.S. third with 83.
In terms of total credit card spending, Korea ranked third with each consumer spending US$8,625 a year, more than twice the average of all the countries surveyed.
